Highs (2 kHz – 6 kHz)

Enhancing the high frequencies can add brightness and clarity, making the mix sound more open and defined. However, too much highs can cause listening fatigue and make the mix sound harsh or shrill. Treble (6 kHz – 20 kHz)
Treble frequencies are the highest frequencies in the audio spectrum and add air and brightness to the mix. This range includes frequencies that add “air” and “sparkle” to sounds, which is especially important for instruments such as cymbals, strings and vocals. Treble contributes to the sense of space and detail in a mix, providing a sense of openness and definition. However, it is important to use these frequencies sparingly, as too much can introduce sibilance and make the mix sound artificial or overly bright.
